Krig har alltid funnits, även innan religionen uppstod. Jag tror dessutom att vissa människor behöver, eller åtminstone tror sig behöva religion för att leva ett lyckligt, tillfredställt liv
Lösningen är antagligen att lära barnen redan vid en tidig ålder att klara sig utan religionen och gud. Jag tror att om man tidigt lär barnen att ifrågasätta och tänka kritiskt leder detta oundvikligen till religionens fullständiga kollaps. Det har redan börjat, men det kanske tar åtskilliga generationer innan det målet är uppnått

Personligen är jag säker på att världen skulle se bättre ut utan religionen. Den uppstod ju faktiskt ur ett behov av att förklara världen och allt vi ser omkring oss. Nu när vi har bättre metoder för att förklara världn fyller religionen inte längre någon funktion, annat än tröst och stöd, vilket även det kan uppnås genom andra medel

Jag tror inte att vi skulle slippa krig och elände bara för att religionerna är med och påverkar. Människan är kapabel till mycket ondska som inte på något sätt är religions eller trosrelaterad. Patriotism är till exempel en annan mycket starkt drivande och sammansvetsande kraft som kan leda till motsättningar på så pass lös grund som en geografisk gränsdragning.
Men däremot så vill man ju gärna tro att utan religionen så skulle man slippa åtminstone ett irrationelt svepskäl till att åsamka oskyldiga en massa lidande i villfarelsen att man gör det rätta.
Och man kan inte dra slutsatsen att ett fullständigt sekulariserat samhälle för den skull kommer att vara ett rationellt och utopiskt sådant. Vi här i Sverige är ju ett bra exempel, de flesta är inte ateister för att de rannsakat sig själva och utvärderat bevisen, de är ateister "bara därför att". Att komma till den slutsatsen utan att tänka är ju inte självklart bättre än att per automatik tro på gud för att alla andra gör det.
Men man kan ju också se det som Christopher Hitchens. Om religionen försvann, vad skulle man då ha att prata om?
